Instructions
Heat oil in a deep pot to 350F. Whisk together all dry ingredients then slowly incorporate your beer. The batter should be thick but not chunky, like pancake batter. Dip morels in batter and fry until golden. Drain on paper towels and serve with horseradish crema.
- 1 qt vegetable oil
- 1 ½ C flour
- ½ C corn starch
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp paprika
- 16 oz Dark Lager or Stout
- 20ish morels, cleaned, dried, and split lengthwise
