Instructions

Place sumac in a container or pitcher with just enough water to cover, then mash ‘em up. Smash with your hands, a potato masher, a big stick you found, whatever you want, just let them know who’s boss. Top with the rest of your water and let this steep for about 2two hours. Afterwards, make sure to strain out the tiny particles, as they can cause irritation. I have a super fine tea strainer, but a coffee filter works great too. Mix in sweetener of choice and taste. Not sweet enough? Add more sweetener. I like mine with a splash of sparkling water or champagne.

NOTE: Steeping time may be increased if you want a little more kick.
